Albert Philpott’s
appearance in Chailey’s parish magazine is brief to say the least. In October
and November 1914 he is noted as serving his King and Country but these are the only references to him.
He is possibly
4259 Quartermaster Sergeant Major Albert Gersham Philpott of the 9th Lancers but without further documentary evidence
or information on this man it is difficult to be certain about this.
