Mabel Frances Blencowe, born around 1861, was the wife of John Ingham Blencowe and the sister-in-law of Frances Isabel Blencowe.

Her maiden name was Ingram, one of seven daughters of James Ingram of Ades, Cinder Hill, Chailey.  Born at Chailey, she appears on the 1891 census of England & Wales living with her husband and one year old daughter, Margaret Penelope Blencowe, at Lewes, Sussex.

By the time the 1901 census was taken, the family was living at Pelham House, Lewes with John Ingham Blencowe's profession noted as Land Agent.

I believe that Mabel Blencowe is the J Blencowe (J for John) referred to in a 1914 newspaper article as Sussex 54 VAD's quartermaster.  Her daughter, Margaret also served with the detachment as a probationer.
